About HomesteadCriteria
HomesteadCriteria helps homesteaders and small farmers choose equipment that does the job for years.
Homestead gear works hard and has to last. A coop without ventilation, a fence too short for goats or a pressure canner that cannot be tested will cost animals, food or money. HomesteadCriteria starts with the job and the animal or crop, then compares equipment on the specifications and the extension-service guidance that matter.
We cover poultry and small livestock, beekeeping, food gardens and season extension, preserving and the homestead kitchen, land, fencing and water, compact equipment, firewood and off-grid power. Horses belong to HorseCriteria, pets to PetCriteria, lawns and ornamental gardens to YardVetted, and emergency preparedness to PrepperVerdict. For animal health, consult a veterinarian.
